Name:Probable Roman settlement and multi-period finds

Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking recovered finds dating from the Iron Age to the post medieval period. These include an Iron Age coin, a Roman coin and a fragment of undated lava quern. Pieces of Roman, possible Early Saxon, Middle Saxon, medieval and post medieval pot have also been found. The Roman pottery is concentrated in one area suggesting this is part of an area of Roman settlement.

Three small body sherds coarse sandy, ?Early Saxon.
