Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in this area during 1992 recovered a variety of objects. Finds included two Roman coins, two Early Saxon brooches, a Late Saxon strap end and hooked tag, a piece of medieval armour, a medieval ampulla and post medieval German jettons.

Full description

1992. Fieldwalking and metal detecting. South of Fordham and just north of cut off channel.
Large scatter including NHER 4462 and 4446.
Two 2nd century AD sesterti.
Four medieval and three post medieval coins; six jettons.

Pottery:
Early medeival rim, Green Glazed Grimston (including two decorated handles and two bases).
Bourne rim and handle and post medieval stoneware sherd.
Early Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval metalwork.
