Summary

Metal-detecting between 1990 and 2017 recovered a late prehistoric flint fabricator; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds; Roman and medieval coins, medieval/post-medieval tokens; as well undated, and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undated metalworking debris; Roman brooches, a possible military pendant, key, furniture fitting, toilet article, and hair pin fragment; an Early Saxon brooches, a girdle hanger, and buckle; a Middle/Late Saxon hooked tag; a Late Saxon box mount; the arm of a Viking trefoil brooch; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories and weights; a medieval book fitting, seal matrix, bell, cauldron fragment, knife fragment, scabbard fragment, skillet fragment, a 15th century gilt finger ring depicting St George and the dragon; a medieval/post-medieval chafing dish fragment; and a post-medieval gold finger ring and harness.
