Full description

August 1986. From this field at three separate spots 'some way apart' (finder was unable to locate more closely).
?Roman strap end; pearshaped with square loop above and hollow back. 3.7mm long, 5mm minimum width, 11mm maximum width, loop 9mm width. Compare South Shields Fort finds in (S1).
Late 1st to 2nd century sestertius, too corroded to identify.
As of Vespasian, or of Titus as junior emperor - ASIAN only legible on obverse left of bust facing right, profile more suggestive of Vespasian. Reverse illegible, female figure standing right with SC.
