Summary
This is the site of a Roman settlement. A Roman brooch, four Roman coins, and fragments of Roman pottery have been found during field walking and metal detecting. Prehistoric flints and fragments of pottery dating from the medieval and post medieval periods have also been found.

Full description
March 1983. Field Ordnance Survey Great Fransham 256. Field walking finds.
Large numbers of Roman sherds including Oxfordshire colour coated, ?Samian, rusticated, coarse.
Flint tools and ?prehistoric sherds.
Medieval sherds including Grimston, late medieval/early post medieval.
Post medieval sherds including glazed red earthenware.
