Name:Crabb's Castle, possible round barrow

Summary

An oval pit, six to eight metres deep and about forty metres long and thirty wide. At the bottom of the pit is a mound which is possibly a Bronze Age round barrow. The whole area is covered in shrubs and trees, and is infested with rabbits.

Full description

Name is elsewhere used for a barrow. E.Rose (NAU).

Situated some 500m north-east of Barmer Church.
The site consists of an oval pit approx. 6-8m deep, measuring approximately 40m north-to-south, 30m east-to-west. In bottom of pit there is a mound rising from centre towards west. The whole is covered in scrub, and supports old yew and deciduous trees. Banks are infested with rabbits.
