Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting along the route of a pipeline have recovered a large number of finds dating from the Mesolithic to the post medieval period. These include a Mesolithic flint blade, two Iron Age gold coins made in France and many Roman coins, brooches and fragments of pottery. The density of these finds suggests that this was an important Iron Age and Roman site.
