Name:Multi-period finds from Late Iron Age to Roman settlement, Ingoldishthorpe

Summary

Metal detecting recovered a large number of finds dating from the prehistoric to the post medieval period. A concentration of Late Saxon to post medieval pottery pieces was recorded in the same location as a spread of chalk rubble. Other finds include a Bronze Age awl, an Icenian silver iron Age coin, Roman brooches and part of a Roman cosmetic mortar and many Roman coins. This site is part of a Late Iron Age to Roman settlement (NHER 26626).

1955. From field on north side of [1].
Medieval pottery including sagging bases and glazed ware jugs 13th to 15th century.

One sherd found to be post medieval, Bourne ware fabric D pancheon.
