Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting have recovered a large number of Roman finds from this field. This includes two broken paterae (flat dishes with handles) that may have been a metalworker's hoard. Over 200 Roman coins have been found. This is part of a large area of Late Iron Age to Roman settlement (NHER 26626).

Sherds of carinated pottery, wheel turned, imitation of Gallo-Belgic, 1st century AD, on ploughed field.
Probably lost.

Republican denarius 1st to 2nd century BC, with test marks.
Denarius of Antoninus Pius COS III AD 161.
Penny of Henry VIII 1526 to 1543 Canterbury mint, Archbishop Warham 1526 to 1532 (uncertain).
