D. Gurney (NLA), 28 November 1991.

November 1991. Fieldwalking.
Finds previously recorded as coming from the fields to the south-east (NHER 28651), although the field reference given (old O.S. Field 103) suggests these were almost certainly from this area:
1 ?Iron Age sherd.
42 Roman pottery sherds.
1 ?Middle Saxon pottery sherd with heavy organic temper.
1 medieval pottery sherd.
1 undatable pottery sherd with many voids (?shell-tempered).
See list in file for NHER 28651.
P. Watkins (HES), 10 December 2013.

1993. Metal detecting.
Post medieval button.

Pre 1995. Fieldwalking.
An article published in 1995 (S1) notes that several surface collections made in this field have produced blade and blade cores of probable Mesolithic date. The mention of blade cores suggests that this is at least in part a reference to previously unreported finds. The article also describes a blade of probable Late Upper Palaeolithic date that was found approximately 100m to the east of the high ground surrounding Caudle Carr. The recorded dimensions (85 x 30 x 7mm) suggest that this is a separate find from the long blade found in 1989. This piece is illustrated in (S1).
P. Watkins (HES), 10 December 2013.

1995. Fieldwalking.
Various worked flints found by [1] in vicinity of Caudle Carr (at northern edge of field):
1 Mesolithic 'microlithic point' and 2 blade fragments.
2 ?Early Neolithic very fine burins, 2 scrapers (1 burnt), 1 blade fragment, 1 retouched flake, several unmodified flakes.
Identified by E. Rose (NLA); see list in file.
E. Rose (NAU), 28 March 1996. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 10 December 2013.
