Summary

This T-shaped two storey flint building with traces of old brick window edges has a date stone that reads '1619' and 'RNA'. This marriage stone may refer to remodelling or shortening of the house. The building has been much altered throughout its history. There is a south wing continued by a single storey cottage. This was added and other alterations made in the 18th century. A course of reused stone blocks runs beneath the eaves. Inside are some ornate ceilings of the mid 16th century.

Now Top Farm; informant confirms date which is on front doorway.

15 November 1979. Visit.
Flint, with traces of old brick window edges. Much altered. A course of stone blocks runs beneath the eaves, and the barns of 1772, rebuilt 1977, have reused stone also. Collections of flints and pottery from area kept here.

(S2) calls Manor Farm. States date is on stone with 'RNA'. T shaped two storey house with south wing continued by single storey cottage. Central ground floor room has moulded spine beam and joists. Room to west with roll moulded spine and bressumer beam.

Further investigation established that the house has ornate ceilings of the mid 16th century. The date of 1619 is on a marriage stone and may refer to a remodelling or shortening. Wings added and other alterations in the 18th century.
