Summary

Metal detecting at this site has recovered a large number of finds dating from the Bronze Age to the post medieval period. These include a Bronze Age awl, a possible Iron Age strap union, a 1st century AD brooch, a possible Early Saxon brooch fragment, a Late Saxon stirrup mount, two Viking mounts, a late Saxon box mount, a decorated medieval rectangular buckle and Roman, medieval and post medieval coins. Cropmarks previously recorded at this site are now recorded separately as NHER 45061-3.

Full description

Various linear cropmarks in this field, crossing each other at angles.
Interpreted as a Roman road by C.J.S. Green (NAU), but P. Wade-Martins (NAU) and E. Rose (NAU) disagree.
