Record Details

NHER Number:10007
Type of record:Monument
Name:Multi-period finds, Roman and Late Saxon pits

Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting at this site have recorded many Roman to post medieval pottery fragments, metal finds and coins. Excavations during drainage operations recorded a Late Saxon pit and ditch and two Roman pits. Interpretations suggest this is the site of a Roman building and Late Saxon to early medieval settlement. There is some confusion with NHER 10008.
