Summary
A World War Two pillbox, possibly Type 24, was once located somewhere to the east of the main road. It was demolished sometime prior to 1995. The pillbox would have formed part of a ring of defences around this crossroads which included a ring of anti-tank obstacles (NHER 30787), a second pillbox (NHER 62733), a spigot mortar emplacement (NHER 62736), a gun emplacement (NHER 30788), and a Home Guard shelter (NHER 62735).

Full description
Early 1990's. Defensive Structures Survey. E2-18.
A pillbox, possibly type 24, was located here in 1940 or 1941 and was demolished sometime prior to the date of this survey.
Local informants stated that the pillbox took a week to remove.
The pillbox would have formed part of a ring of defences around this crossroads which included a ring of anti-tank obstacles (NHER 30787), a second pillbox (NHER 62733), a spigot mortar emplacement (NHER 62736), a gun emplacement (NHER 30788), and a Home Guard shelter (NHER 62735).
