Summary

Metal-detecting between 2015 and 2016 recovered a Neolithic scraper; and Late Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Late Iron Age/Roman brooches; Roman brooches, studs, a brooch spring, hairpin, tweezers and a harness mount; Middle Saxon to medieval hooked tags; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval vessel fragments, cloth seals, a furniture fitting, hook, architectural fragment, medieval/post-medieval book fittings, rings, a candlestick, and a cloth seal; post-medieval harness mounts and a cuff link.

The findspots of these finds were not recorded on recovery so they could come from either of the two fields recorded under this number. PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY MORE FINDS TO THIS NUMBER.

Neolithic scraper.
Late Iron Age/Roman brooches including Nauheim derivative and Langton Down variants.
Roman Colchster brooches, studs, a brooch spring, hairpin, tweezers and a harness mount,
Middle Saxon/Late Saxon hooked tags.
Medieval buckles and buckle fragments, strap-ends, strap fittings, vessel fragments, cloth seals, a furniture fitting, hook, architectural fragment.
Medieval/post-medieval buckles, book fittings, rings, a candlestick, cloth seal, and a button.
1 post-medieval token, harness mounts and cuff link.
The majority of the finds were recovered from Context 1.
