Full description
June 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, potentially the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs to the south of Braydeston Hall (S1). The site is centred on TG 3408 0875. The ring ditch is approximately 38m in diameter with a break or causeway in the ditch to the south and modern farm buildings obscure the northern part of the ditch. The ditch varies in width from 2-4m. This possible ring ditch is only visible on the edge of one aerial photograph and it is possible that it relates to an underlying geological feature or has been caused by recent agricultural activity. However other more convincing ring ditches and round barrows have been recording within close proximity (NHER 12781-3 and 16727).
S. Massey (NMP), 23 June 2007.
