Summary

Metal-detecting between 2005 and 2013 recovered Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds, a variety of metal objects and Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins. Finds of note include a Bronze Age axehead; a Roman dolphin brooch, seal box lid, patera handle, comb, finger ring, penannular brooch, Aesica brooch and parts of two silver spoons; a Late Saxon finger ring or earring; a medieval lead religious badge, buckles, button, horse harness stud, pewter weight and part of a folding strap clasp; medieval/post-medieval ring and vessel fragments and post-medieval buckles, jettons, a crotal bell, button and belt or harness mount. Evidence was also recovered for the manufacture of Roman barbarous radiates on this site.
