Metal-detecting in this area between 2005 and 2015 recovered prehistoric worked flint including a Mesolithic/Early Neolithic flint axehead and a Neolithic/Bronze Age retouched flake and a Bronze Age scraper; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Iron Age toggle; Roman brooches, a terret and military horse-harness pendant; a ?Middle Saxon copper alloy pin; a Late Saxon furniture finger/ear rings, bridle side link, finger ring, fitting or harness mount and stirrup strap mounts; a Late Saxon/medieval harness link; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories and harness mounts; medieval horse-harness pendants, a brooch, furniture mount, rotary key shank and lead ampulla; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, a bell and lead weight and post-medieval thimbles, a copper alloy weight and pin.
