Metal-detecting in this area between 2005 and 2012 recovered a Mesolithic/Early Neolithic flint axehead; undatable prehistoric flints flakes; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval jettons and Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Iron Age toggle; Roman brooches and military horse-harness pendant; a ?Middle Saxon copper alloy pin; a Late Saxon furniture finger/ear rings, bridle side link, fitting or harness mount and stirrup strap mounts; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval horse-harness pendants, furniture mount and lead ampulla; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments, bell and lead weight and post-medieval thimbles and pin.
