Summary

Metal detecting from 2005 to 2009 has recovered a large number of Roman coins, some 191, as well as pottery sherds, stone and ceramic roofing tiles, box or flue tiles, a brooch, a button, fragments of a finger ring and furniture or harness mounts. These are all thought to derive from a flat area that may represent the site of a Roman building. Undated slag, lead weights and burnt stone, as well as medieval and post-medieval metal objects, have also been recovered from this site.
