Summary
An area of World War Two barbed wire defences and military structures, possibly pillboxes, is located around the base of Muckleburgh Hill. These surround the southwestern edge of Weybourne Anti-Aircraft Training Camp (NHER 11335) and are visible on aerial photographs. These form part of the outer defences of the camp and are probably also related to the area of World War Two training activities on Muckleburgh Hill to the immediate south. These barbed wire sections form enclosures which surround various and defensive positions and gun emplacements (see NHER 38349, 38350 and 38366).

An area of World War Two barbed wire defences and military structures, possibly pillboxes, are located around the base of Muckleburgh Hill. These surround the southwestern edge of Weybourne Anti-Aircraft Training Camp (NHER 11335) and are visible on aerial photographs. (S1). These form part of the outer defences of the camp and are probably also related to the area of World War Two training activities on Muckleburgh Hill to the immediate south. These barbed wire sections form enclosures which surround various and defensive positions and gun emplacements (see NHER 38349, 38350 and 38366). The site is centred on TG 1008 4319.
A wide section of barbed wire runs from around a gun emplacement (NHER 32476) at TG 0986 4336 to TG 1016 4317, the last part of this defence runs along the top of the bank of the anti-tank ditch. Two rectangular structures, 5m by 4m, are located at TG 0998 4327 and TG 1004 4325. The exact nature of these is not known, although it is possible that they are pillboxes. In-between theses and the anti-tank ditch is a short section of barbed wire. To the south of this are several enclosures created by narrower lines of barbed wire, including a semi-circular enclosure centred on TG 1003 4321. To the immediate west the barbed wire surrounds two World War Two defensive sites (NHER 38349 and 38350). To the east a further barbed wire enclosure is centred on TG 1026 4315, forming an irregular curvilinear enclosure around a gun emplacement (NHER 38366).

February 2013. Field visit.
A hollow/pit was identified, centred on TG 09958 43217. It is roughly circular in plan, measures 8-10m across and is up to 0.5m deep.
A small area of possible earthworks was identified, centred on TG 10021 43220. It was difficult to view and confirm the archaeological nature of the earthworks, given dense scrub cover.
