Summary

Metal-detecting here between 2002 and 2011 recovered a Mesolithic to Early Bronze Age quartzite pebble mace/hammer as well as a large number of Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and various items of metalwork. Finds of note include a Roman stylus and cast copper alloy figurine; a beautiful Late Saxon strap end; a remarkable mount from a medieval mazer (drinking vessel) and a copper alloy mirror case; a post-medieval fob seal with floral decoration and a bullion weight.
