Summary

Sporadic metal-detecting between 2000 and 2012 recovered Late prehistoric flint flakes and a single platform blade core; Late Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and Roman/Early Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a fragment of Roman/Early Saxon unidentified object; Early to Late Saxon brooch fragments plus an Early Saxon girdle hanger and a Late Saxon bridle bit; a medieval lead ampulla, seal matrix, signet ring, spindle whorl and an impressive example of a mirror case; a medieval/post-medieval buckle and post-medieval dress accessories, a weight and furniture and harness fittings.
