Summary

Metal detecting in 1999 and 2006 recovered a range of objects, including a Middle Bronze Age chisel, Roman brooches, Roman, medieval and post medieval coins, a medieval jetton and post medieval tokens. An evaluation in the southern corner of the site in 2007 revealed no additional archaeological finds or features.

Thirteen Roman, three medieval and three post medieval coins.
Medieval jetton and post medieval tokens.
Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval metal finds.

March-April 2006. Metal-detecting.
1 Middle Bronze Age chisel (S2).
3 Roman coins and 3 brooches (1 two-piece colchester type, 1 disk type, 1 unusual dolphin type).
1 post-medieval coin, 2 weights (1; 1oz, 1; 1/4oz) and 1 unidentifed object (gilt).

October 2007. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation in southern corner of site, immediately east of Oakwoods. Five trial trenches were excavated prior to residential development.
No archaeological finds or features were encountered.
