Metal-detecting in this area during 1998-2010 recovered a variety of artefacts and coins. Finds included Roman coins, a superb Roman seal box, a Middle Saxon pin, a fragment of post-medieval jewellery, a bent Late Saxon finger ring, three post-medieval lead weights and a Roman phallic pendant.
