Summary

Extensive metal-detecting between 1998 and 2014 recovered a prehistoric flint flake; medieval pottery sherds; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Iron Age terret; a Roman brooch; a Middle Saxon brooch and strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval brooches, seal matrices, metalworking debris, a ferrule, hasp, bell, thimble and a French coin turned into a brooch; a medieval/post-medieval ingot, candlestick fragment, weight and copper alloy vessel fragments and a post-medieval coin weight, brooch, book fitting, crotal bell, writing implement and harness fittings.

Find of 'Lebanese 15th century coin' identified at British Museum as a gros tournois of Philip III or IV, of France, AD 1270-95, turned into a coin brooch.
