Val Fryer (NCM) identified: Fragment of copper alloy hooked tag, probably with circular or pear shaped head plate. Incised linear decoration on one face. 7th-11th century. Middle Saxon, Late Saxon. See (S1).
H.M. Geake (A&E) identified: Medieval bar-mount from a belt. Thin copper alloy strip with semi-ciruclar cut out at either end with and copper alloy rivet just within. Decorated with borders of double triangle punchmarks running between the cut-outs.
Early post medieval belt or harness mount in the shape of a long heraldic shield with shaped top and central vertical keeling. White-metal coating on front and 2 bent over spikes on reverse.
