The metal finds include undated casting waste, metalworking debris, a spindle whorl, unidentified object, and finger ring; a Bronze Age awl; Iron Age and Iron Age/Roman harness fitting; a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman cosmetic implements, brooches, steelyard weights, bracelet fragments, mirror fragments, a key, spoon, nail, upholstery nail and spoon; a Roman/Early Saxon strap fitting; an Early Saxon buckle, sleeve clasp, and spangle; a Late Saxon bridle bit and spoon; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval pendant, lead pot mend, cauldron fragment, harness mount and an acron knop from the lid of a flagon.; a medieval/post-medieval candlestick base, purse fragment, and a post-medieval rotary key, weight and coin weight.

November 1998. Metal detecting.
H. M. Geake (NCM), identified the following:
Early post medieval end-cap from a knife. It looks like a penguin: a thick oval of cast copper alloy with a moulded lozenge on top. The sides have longitudinal grooves and the reverse is hollow to hold the knife tang. Remains of iron rivet driven through lozenge .
Eighteen coins found at same time. No details.
