Metal detecting here in 1996 and 2005 recovered a selection of multi-period metal objects. Noteworthy finds included a Late Saxon disc brooch with Borre-style ornamentation and a Roman Colchester one-piece brooch.

1996. Metal detector find.
Late Saxon disc brooch with Borre-style ornament. Damaged edge. Worn. Single transverse pin lug, damaged catchplate. 10th century.

Roman Colchester one-piece brooch, missing most of spring, pin and catchplate. Undecorated, 1st century AD.
