Name:Roman, Late Saxon to post medieval objects

Summary

In 1996 and 2000 a number of Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds were recovered from this site, along with 15th/16th century brick fragments and a Roman coin. A human vertebra, presumably derived from the adjacent churchyard, was also found.

Full description

April-October 1996. Found while gardening, along with much modern material.
A few 15th/16th century brick fragments.
Two late medieval/early post medieval sherds (one strap handle and one body sherd).
Jar rim Roman greyware.
One Roman coin.
