Summary

Metal detecting in 1996 to 2007 has recovered a large number of objects from the Mesolithic, Neolithic, Roman, Saxon, medieval and post medieval periods. These include a possible Mesolithic flint drill bit, a Roman figurine, an Early Saxon cruciform brooch, small-long brooch and Middle Saxon equal-armed brooches, a Late Saxon 'Norse bell' fragment, a heavily gilded decorated medieval circular mount with projection and a penny of Queen Cynethryth, wife of Offa.

January/February 1996. Metal detector finds.
Context 2 at [1]. Bow of Early Saxon cruciform brooch, fine transverse lines and facets, at each end. One end broken in antiquity or at least long ago, the other more recently.

One rim pimply Middle Saxon Ipswich, one rim sandy Middle Saxon Ipswich, one base and one body sherd sandy Middle Saxon Ipswich, one jar rim Late Saxon Thetford type, one jar rim Roman greyware, one bowl rim, Late Saxon ?Thetford-type.
