Summary

Metal-detecting between 1995 and 2019 recovered a Neolithic flint tool; Roman and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval tokens; a post-medieval jetton and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman cosmetic mortar, a four-legged figurine stand, brooch and pot mend; a Roman/Early Saxon strap-end; a Middle Saxon brooch and tweezers; a Late Saxon brooch and weft beater; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval seal matrices, a finger ring, harness pendant, padlock, and key; a medieval/post-medieval strap-end and rowel spur and post-medieval cloth seals, an apothecary weight, coin weight, book fitting, mount and weights.

December 1995 to January 1996. Metal detector finds. [1]
Two post medieval coins, five post medieval tokens.
One Apothecary's weight, 17th or 18th century. 1 drachm.
Identified by J. Davies (NCM).
Quillon from 14th century dagger. Plain or angled slightly downwards. Recess for top of blade on underside. Length 65mm.

Late medieval purse bar terminal knob in form of stylised animal head.
Very closely gilded silver mount fragment, probably Late Saxon. Hollow underside. Convex surface decorated with cast equal-armed crosses and leaf motifs in relief. Crosses with niello inlay. See (S1).
