Full description

1993. Metal-detecting. [1].
1 Late Upper Palaeolithic large blade-like flint flake. 148mm long. Probably from an early stage of core preparation. The edges are battered, suggesting this is an example of a 'mashed' or 'bruised' blade. See drawing (S1). This find is listed as a Late Upper Palaeolithic long blade in (S2).
1 prehistoric blade. Smaller, non-cortical blade. Possibly also Upper Palaeolithic, although it could be of a later, Mesolithic/Early Neolithic date.
1 Late Saxon lozenge shaped box mount with flange at base, and pieced lobe at 'apex'. Two rivet holes (large) at base. The body of the mount has nine pierced holes of similar size. Lobes on two corners. See Polaroid (S3). This find was reidentified as a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount by D. Williams in 1997, see Monograph (S6).
