Full description

November/December 1993. Metal detecting. Field 1. [2].
11th century box mount, lobed terminal, profile lion with raised front paw. Pierced hole in flange. Open jaws and raised head towards 'apex' of mount.
Medieval casket key cut from sheet bronze, hollow stem, two parallel wards. Pierced flat lug on same side as wards at top.

26 June 1996. NLA air photography.
Cropmarks visible of site of Old Haveringland Hall site (see NHER 7519).
Rectangular 'block' positive anomalies may relate to the location of hall buildings or that of garden features.
To the southeast at [1] a rectangular parchmark indicates a former building or wall.
Two other linear parchmarks, both leading to the church, appear to be roads/tracks.
The ditches and enclosures relating to both the road and the possible buildings may be garden and building range boundaries, defining the layout of the hall and its grounds.
