Summary

Fieldwalking here in 1993 recovered sherds of medieval and post medieval pottery, medieval roof tiles and prehistoric flint flakes. Subsequent metal detecting during 2004-08 retrieved a variety of objects including a Late Saxon stirrup strap mount, a post medieval belt mount, part of a post medieval book clasp, a medieval horse harness pendant and a Late Saxon harness cheek piece. Several Roman coins of Tetricus I and Constantine II were amongst those found at this site.

3021521 March 1993. Includes part of site NHER 7282. Whole field north of track, walked rapidly. No concentrations, good conditions, winter cereal.
One lava quern fragment.
One flint flake.
Two medieval peg roof tile fragments.
Thirty+ scraps medieval unglazed.
Six glazed Grimston.
Two post medieval stoneware.

1 post-medieval pottery sherd (Glazed Red Earthenware), 1 knife end-stop, 2 belt mounts (1 tinned) and 1 buckle frame fragment.
