Summary

Metal-detecting between 1991 and 2011 recovered prehistoric flint implements; Iron Age to Late Saxon coins; a Late Saxon bone pin beater and Iron Age to post-medieval pottery sherds and metal objects. The metal finds include an Iron Age brooch and terret; Roman brooches and other metalwork; an unusual Early Saxon ring; a Middle Saxon silver ear scoop and ansate brooch; Late Saxon brooches, strap fittings, a finger ring and cosmetic scoop and medieval and post medieval dress accessories, Jew's harps, weights, rings, tokens, jettons and coin weights.
The quantity of Roman finds from the site suggest that it was part of a Roman settlement.
