Full description

January 1991. Found with metal detector generally over field containing sites NHER 25983 and NHER 25760.
Roman coin, identified by D. Gurney (NLA), see list in file.
Medieval bronze harness pendant? Traces of gilding, in form of square with four square fields in the corners decorated with engraved gridiron motif. Identified by S. Margeson (NCM).
13th century buckle with projecting animal head. Part of one loop broken off. Photographed (S1).
13th century buckle with wedge shaped expanded outer frame. Compare with (S2).

March 1991.
One more Roman coin and D shaped medieval buckle with moulded resting bar found.

1993. Metal detector find.
Bronze belt fitting. Three narrow arms (one missing) with pierced lobes at terminals. Bar with stamped/nicked decoration. Six shanks are broken off other side of bar, probably formed openwork decoration. This is probably part of a late Roman object of 'soldiers and settlers' type. Photograph.
