Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in 1989 recovered a fragment of possibly Iron Age pottery, Roman pottery, tile and brick fragments and a few pieces of medieval pottery. Also found were a Roman coin and a Saxon coin.

Full description

January and February 1989. Fieldwalking.
Possible Iron Age flint gritted rim sherd.
Roman grey, Samian (very worn) and colourcoated wares; large amphora rim sherd.
Tegulae, flue and possibly imbrex tiles and possible brick fragment.
Few late medieval/Transitional sherds.
Identified by W. Milligan (NCM), 17 February 1989.
