Summary

Fieldwalking here in the early 1980s recovered a number of Roman greyware pottery sherds and part of a Roman flagon. Subsequent metal-detecting between 2005 and 2014 recovered Roman and medieval pottery sherds including a fragment of Roman mortarium; fragments of Roman tile; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Roman brooches and a furniture fitting; a medieval buckle and lead weight; a medieval/post-medieval mount and copper alloy vessel fragments and a post-medieval buckle and part of a sword belt.

Early 1980s. Fieldwalking by Wacton Field Group (NRC).
Forty-five Roman greywares, 2nd century.
