Summary

Metal-detecting between 1980 and 2016 recovered Late Prehistoric and Neolithic worked flint including a projectile point, an Early Neolithic end scraper and a Neolithic/Bronze Age scraper; Iron Age to post-medieval pottery; a Roman box flue tile fragment; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and Roman, Early Saxon and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an Iron Age mount in the shape of a bull or cow's head; Roman brooches, a harness mount and terret; an Early Saxon brooch and buckle; a Late Saxon disc brooch; medieval buckles, an annular brooch, folding strap clasp and standing weight; medieval/post-medieval purse bar fragment and the end-cap from a scale-tang knife and post-medieval buckles, lead weights, a crotal bell and eye-plate from a dress fastener.

1980 onwards from finders field 2. Metal-detecting and surface finds over middle and north part of field, and just spreading into next field to east. [1]
Roman coins, brooch foot, Middle Saxon sherd, medieval coins and objects, Roman and medieval sherds.

Note that contexts 2 to 5 were originally recorded as part of NHER 15840, but it now transpires that they were found to the east of the field boundary.
