Summary

Metal detecting here in 1987 recovered a large quantity of medieval metalwork. Pieces dating to this period included buckles, thimbles, gilt bronze sheet and mount. Several earlier and later finds were also retrieved and these took the form of a Roman coin of Trajan, post medieval buckle and scoop and part of a Bronze Age socketed axehead.

1987. Found with metal detector.
13th century gilt bronze mount.
Denarius of Trajan. Reverse illegible, AD 98-117.
Bronze Age socketed axe fragment (drawn).
Medieval bronze gilt buckle fragment.
Late medieval bronze buckle fragment.
Late medieval gilt bronze sheet.
Late medieval thimble with hole in top.
Late medieval tiny buckle.
Late medieval thimble.
Late medieval lead object with hole and vessel rim.
All these Late medieval objects found together.
Bronze Age? bronze ingot (drawn).
Post medieval farthing with two tails.
Medieval bronze buckle with iron pin.
Medieval bronze vessel foot.
Post medieval complete bronze buckle.
Post medieval bronze scoop.
