Sometime before 1985 three pottery sherds were recovered by fieldwalking in this area. These sherds are likely to be Iron Age, but they could be earlier in date.

Three Iron Age sherds.
In letter from source states that sherds were identified by A.Gregory (NAU) or A. Rogerson (NAU), though no NAU record of this. However, note that Iron Age sherd mentioned from site NHER 17697 in same sentence was in fact identified by A. Rogerson (NAU) only as a prehistoric flint gritted.
