Full description

August 1983. Found wrapped around subsoiler tine after subsoiling to depth of 50cm (20 inches).
Iron spearhead of Swanton group C3, traces of wood in socket, embedded in chalky soil when found, and since partly straightened.

19 August 1983. Site visited by A. Rogerson (NAU).
