Name:Roman coins and artefacts

Summary

Metal-detecting here in 1981-82 and 1988 retrieved a quantity of Roman coins, with examples of coins of Constantine I and Tetricus I being identified. A Roman seal box lid and prehistoric flint flake-blade were also unearthed. Metal-detecting in 2009 recovered further Roman coins, a quantity of Roman pottery, a Roman bow brooch, a bracelet fragment and lead weight, Roman/Early Saxon buckle and a post-medieval button.

1981 and 1982. [1] Found with metal-detector on surface of field newly ploughed from pasture.
