Summary
Stray finds made between 1981 and 1988 and metal-detecting between 1997 and 2014 recovered prehistoric flint implements; late prehistoric, Iron Age, Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval pottery sherds; a fragment of undated lava quern stone; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and undated, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undated casting waste; a Roman brooch and fragments of bracelet; an Early Saxon girdle hanger; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval thimble, horse harness pendant, box padlock, pot mend and an enamelled copper alloy plate; a medieval/post-medieval coin weight, copper alloy vessel fragments and lead spindle whorls or weights and post-medieval crotal bells, a thimble and lead cloth seal belonging to a dyer.
