Record Details

NHER Number:14726
Type of record:Monument
Name:Cropmark of ring ditch, post medieval flint working site and multi-period finds

Summary

A ring ditch, probably dating to the Bronze Age, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. Fieldwalking has recovered a Neolithic plano-convex knife, Neolithic and Bronze Age flint implements, Iron Age, Roman and medieval pottery and post medieval gunflints. The gunflints suggest that this was a flint working site in the post medieval period. An Iron Age coin and a medieval cauldron foot have been found during metal detecting.
