Fieldwalking and metal detecting between 1978 and 2005 recovered a range of objects, including Neolithic worked flints, a Bronze Age hoard, Bronze Age axes, Iron Age pottery, Roman coins and pottery and medieval objects.

Full description

March 1978. On ploughed surface.
Scatter of Neolithic flints including scrapers, hammerstones, fabricator.
Also sherds of coarse, hard, hand made pottery with many flint inclusions.
Body sherds, Neolithic?

18 December 1984. Metal detecting.
Odd lead object of unknown date and use.
Lead star, thought to be late medieval from ceiling decoration, see documentary references to Henry III's palace at Clarendon (S. Margeson NCM January 1985).

Metal detecting.
Late Bronze Age hoard, fifteen pieces; nine tools or fragments, five waste or cake, one tiny ring.
Five flint gritted Iron Age sherds.
Cut halfpenny long cross Henry III moneyer WILLEM ON LINCOLN(?).
North class 3 as portrait is without sceptre; reverse LEM ONL..
Roman coin, House of Valentinian Arles AD 364-378.
Roman sherd, Oxfordshire mortarium 4th century.
Domed lead counter for game?, medieval or post medieval.
Early post medieval harness or furniture stud, bronze.
Lead plummet weight, early post medieval use?

Medieval unglazed stab decorated jug handle fragment.
Roman very thick shell tempered sherd.

December 1991.Metal detecting. North fringe of Bronze Age spread.
Leaded bronze waste - probably Bronze Age.
Medieval gilded bronze quatrefoil openwork stud, shank on reverse.

December 2001. Metal detecting.
Two fragments of copper alloy metalworking debris found 20m southwest of Late Bronze Age hoard site:
Late Bronze Age rough segment of a bi-convex cake, weighing 39.63g.
Undatable small lump with one surface present, otherwise rough granular breaks, rather more green alloy than above, and not certainly Bronze Age, weighing 8.23g.
