Summary

In 1971 a sherd of Iron Age pottery was found here by an Ordnance Survey inspector. Metal-detecting between 2011 and 2017 recovered Roman coins, Roman zoomorphic fish brooches and a furniture fitting.

Full description

18 March 1971. 200m south of Copy's Green fort, against hedge.
A sherd of Iron Age pottery found by Ordnance Survey inspector 'BHS'.

January 2011-May 2013. Metal-detecting. Site extended to the whole field. [1].
Finds identified by HES but not recorded on the PAS database:
10 Roman copper alloy coins.
These objects were previously recorded under NHER 58442.

July 2015-April 2017. Metal-detecting. [2].
15 Roman coins, brooches, two zoormorphic examples in the form of fish, one with crescentic impressions, the other with traces of red enamel and silvery inlay, and a furniture fitting.
