In 1979 the location was visited and it was found that only one house was positioned here. A number of finds have been made in the surrounding area, including an Iron Age coin and several sherds of medieval and post medieval pottery, with fragments of Grimston Ware and Glazed Red Earthenware being identified.

Earthworks of the probable deserted medieval settlement of Hargham are visible on aerial photographs (S2-S10) in the vicinity of Hargham Hall Farm. The earthworks are centred on TM 0204 9177 and consist of a number of ditched enclosures or possible tofts, as well as more than one possible house platform or croft, the most north-easterly of which is centred on TM 022 9187 and measures approximately 27m by 23m. There are a number of earthwork undulations visible within this field, and it is possible that more of these may be archaeological than have been mapped, as it was difficult to distinguish between archaeology and natural undulations in places.
A further linear ditch cropmark which may or may not be related to the site is visible as a cropmark on later photographs (S11), to the west of the site at TM 0162 9165, but possibly related to it.
E. Ford (NMP), 4 December 2012.
