Aerial photograph of Mileham Castle. (© NCC)Mileham Castle is an impressive earthwork, and a fine example of a motte and bailey castle. The land surrounding the monument, and the moat, is managed in the interests of wildlife. There are some splendid views from the castle mound itself, and the whole site offers opportunities for some very pleasant short walks.
In the village of Mileham, opposite Burwood Hall. Access is from The Street, the main road that passes through the village. The entrance to the castle is through a kissing gate between the Village Hall and Burwood Hall.
