Summary

Beaker period barbed and tanged flint arrowheads, pieces of medieval and post medieval pot, fragments of medieval floor tiles, part of a medieval lava quern stone and a medieval millstone were found. A watching brief carried out during extension of the school buildings found a post medieval token.

Full description

1955. Area of school. Context 1.
Medieval potsherds, part of glazed floor tile, fragment of lava quernstone.

1962. Context 3.
12th to 13th century sherds found in garden of area school and fragment of Neidermendig lava mill stone. Also two sherds 15th to 16th century wares.

1965. Stray Find.
Found while digging in school grounds at TM 0639 9178 (Context 2):
1 Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age barbed and tanged flint arrowhead. See drawing (S3).
